Story of the garden
The Emerald Door is a portal into an otherworldly, secret place, nestled in the heart of New Orleans’ Bywater neighborhood. It is a place for community, ceremony, music, art, workshops, creative exploration, planting, growing, dinner parties, and all the magic one can conjure up.
Dreamed into existence by Nicolina Tyler, a visual artist, designer and accordion player,
the garden is the embodiment of a longstanding belief that we can make our own little corner of the universe a beautiful, sacred place.
